Most Common Scenarios

Now that you understand how the system works, there are three basic parts that can replaced to resolve 99% of the problems that can possibly occur. Here are the list of common problems you may encounter that can be easily resolved by replacing the main components on the previous page.

Both seat heater elements are not producing heat and there is no led light in the switch.
- Check and replace 10 amp fuse if it blown. Check ground to make sure negative wire is properly secured. An electrical tester will come in handy to ensure the positive and negative connections are working. Check for loose connections. (ie. wires may fall out of connectors, or loose positive and negative connections)

The rocker switch broke apart from the plastic housing.
- Replace dual temperature lighted switch only. This is not covered under warranty as it is wear and tear.

My control module has melted after I replaced it with a new one!
- Three possible reasons 1. both seat heaters are sharing the same negative ground, please seperate the ground connections, 2. a relay was used to power the seat heaters, do not use a relay system, its not necessary, 3. there is a short somewhere, sometimes very difficult to find out what is wrong

The white printing on the front of the rocker switch is gone.
- Replace dual temperature lighted switch only. This is not covered under warranty because paint was removed due to being overused.

The switch led no longer lights up anymore. The seat heater elements still produce heat.
- Replace the dual temperature lighted switch and switch wire.

The seat heater stays on all the time even when it is in the off position.
- Replace the control module, please ensure the negative grounds are properly seperated individually and not shared with another other grounding source. Please do not use aftermarket relay kits with our seat heaters. Ensure that you are using a 10 amp fuse source ONLY!

The seat heater temperatures do not seem to be right. It feels as if the low is actually high!

- There are four pins located on the back of the switch. The small round one is the positive connection that is going to the LED. There are 3 flat style pins that control the temperatures. The middle flat style pin is negative. You want to swap the very top and bottom of the flat style pins to resolve the problem.

Only the bottom seat heater is working ,the top one isn't.
- Check the pins on the pigtail connectors as they are probably loose, if they are good than you have to replace the control module.

I smell something burnt and the seat heater completely stopped working.
- Replace the control module, please ensure the negative grounds are properly seperated individually and not shared with another other grounding source. Please do not use aftermarket relay kits with our seat heaters. Ensure that you are using a 10 amp fuse source ONLY!

Only one of the seat heater element is working, I did cut holes in the element to allow the channel to keep its shape.
- Replace the seat heater element. Warranty of the seat heater elements is no longer valid if you cut or make improper holes in the element. There are two power leads on both sides of element, if you cut these distribution power wires, the seat heater element will no longer work. This is clearly explained in the instruction manual.

I can feel heat in the elements but it is very weak.
- You must ensure that the four wire elment is installed properly on the bottom cushion only (very important) as stated in the instruction manual. Vehicle engine must be running as there won't be enough amperage to test the seat heater. The seat heaters have occupancy sensors as well therefore it won't reach its maximum heat unless the seat is occupied. Please allow up to 10-15 mins of operating to reach maximum temperature, this applies to factory seat heaters as well.

The LED light flickers once in a while, it is not stable.
- Try changing the power source and negative ground to a more solid one.

To better understand an aftermarket seat heater kit, you will need to understand the main components of the product. The following parts below are not repairable so please do not attempt to modify or alter them in anyway. We will ask you to return the untampered defective parts for closer examination by our service technicians to prevent similar problems from happening again in the future.
